Geftos serves at 13 ABC – WTVG as a weekend anchor. In June 2000, Tony began working for WTVG-TV. He heads up The Restaurant Report Card, shown during the evening news every Thursday. On Thursdays and Fridays, Tony also hosts the only one-hour Noon Newscast from Toledo and co-anchors 13abc Action News Weekend Mornings. Every Saturday and Sunday from 6:00-8:00 AM and again from 9:00-10:00 AM, you will catch him alongside McKenzie Kuehnlein.

In addition, Tony is an adjunct teacher at Toledo University, teaching television production, media writing, and public presentations. Tony loves playing alto sax in the Polish American Concert Band in his spare time, working as an M.C. For different fundraisers and to spend time with his wife and two daughters. He is the former president of the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors.

Tony was an interpretive ranger at the Silent City of Rocks National Reserve in Idaho before working in Toledo, where he contributed to the Times News in Twin Falls, ID. He turned to television as a reporter at KGWC-TV in Casper, WY, where he met his wife in a Stage III Community Theatre production of I Hate Hamlet while playing opposite leads. His second broadcasting job was at KKFX-TV.

Tony recently released two children’s books focused on his Valentine’s Day experience of suffering adult chickenpox. Local cartoonist Don Lee illustrated “The Heart-Shaped Pox” and “A Plague of Heart-Shaped Pox.” When coming to his education, Tony graduated from Riverview Community High School in Detroit, about 40 minutes north of Toledo. He’s a proud alumnus of the University of Western Michigan, where he was a four-year member of the Bronco Marching Band at 89.1 FM WIDR, Kalamazoo, as part of the radio evolution.
