Laubach is a brilliant weather photographer and cameraman, as well as an award-winning meteorologist and storm chaser.He spent three years as the KAKEland Storm Ranger and one of the TV Meteorologists for KAKE-TV in Wichita, Kansas, before joining AccuWeather. Prior to that, he worked for WSIL News 3 in Southern Illinois as a weekend meteorologist and Weather Warrior.

His TV career began in Denver, where he worked as a part-time weather producer and principal storm hunter for KMGH-TV. He created and produced several storm chasing series and contributed to several award-winning severe weather shows during his stint at those stations.

Laubach is a well-known and experienced storm chaser in addition to his studio work. His weather footage has been broadcast on a variety of news channels throughout the world. You may also recall him from the final three seasons of Discovery Channel’s “Storm Chasers,” where he chased with Tim Samaras as part of Team TWISTEX. Many other television shows have featured him, including several on the National Geographic Channel and other major cable networks.

Since starting his storm chasing quest in 1997, Tony has personally witnessed and documented over 300 tornadoes, including multiple twisters during the 2011 Super Outbreak in the southeast US and the strongest tornado ever recorded in 2013 near El Reno, Oklahoma.
