Bridges serves at News 6 as a Weekday Morning and Noon Meteorologist. His forecasts appear from 5 AM to 7 AM. He has forecasted ice storms and other severe weather, as well as tracked the tropics and chased tornadoes, over the course of his career.

Before joining WKMG, he served at KLRT-TV in Little Rock, Arkansas as a Chief Meteorologist. There he built the entire weather department from the ground up. While at KLRT, Bridges spent half a decade reporting on many ice storms and tornado outbreaks. During an unforgettable storm, he spent 8 hours straight cautioning people about the tragic tornadoes and strong winds. His evening newscast at KLRT won him an Emmy Award.

Before going to KLRT, he worked for KFOR-TV in Oklahoma as a meteorologist for 3 years. There he warned the Oklahomans about large-scale, dangerous tornadoes. He also forecasted numerous ice storms that left countless people without power across Oklahoma’s heartland.

Bridges began his TV career at WMAZ-TV in Macon, Georgia, in the year 1995, where he worked as a one-man-band reporter and meteorologist for 2 years. At the time, he was in college. From there, he went to work for WRDW-TV in Augusta, Georgia as a news anchor and morning/noon meteorologist for 4 years.

There he provided live weathercasts from “The Masters” golf tournament. For Bridges’s extensive live coverage of Tropical Storm Floyd while at WRDW, he was honored as “Best Weather” by the Associated Press (AP). After that, he now joined KFOR. 

For his education, Bridges is a proud alumnus of the University of Georgia. He also holds a certificate in Meteorology from Mississippi State University. Bridges is an active member of both the National Weather Association (NWA) and the American Meteorological Society (AMS).

He holds AMS’s Seal of Approval. During his leisure, he likes listening to Alternative Rock songs, playing baseball, traveling (looks forward to visiting Africa and Spain, or watching his fav movie “Great Expectations”.
