Previously, she was in Secaucus, New Jersey, working for WWOR-TV as the Chief Meteorologist for MY 9 News at 10. Before that, she was working for WCBS-TV in New York, as a meteorologist for “CBS 2 News at Noon” and “CBS 2 News This Morning”. Also, she served as a fill-in reporter for “The Early Show,” the CBS national morning program. 

Before going to WCBS, Puente was working for WNBC-TV in New York as a meteorologist and delivered the reports for “Today in New York” on Saturdays and Sundays. Before this, she served as the weekend meteorologist for WAPT-TV, an ABC-affiliated television station in Jackson, Mississippi, where her forecasts were seen every evening at 5 pm and 10 pm. Puente has also worked as a meteorologist for WXVT-TV(CBS-affiliated) in Greenville, Mississippi, and WJCL-TV(an ABC-affiliated) in Savannah, Georgia. He got her start at the current station, WNYW-TV in New York, where she worked as a production assistant. 

Puente is an active member of the National Weather Association, the American Meteorological Society, and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
