Ralston serves at ABC6 – WSYX as a news anchor for Good Day Columbus which airs on weekdays from 5 am to 9 am. The program also airs on FOX28. Before joining the station, she served at WTVF NewsChannel 5 in the Music City, Nashville as the anchor of the evening newscasts, and host of a show called “Openline”. She was honored as a “Style Setter: One of the city’s 10 best-dressed” by the “Nashville Scene” magazine.
Her journalism career began at WFMJ-TV21 in Youngstown where she worked as a Producer. Later on, after relocation to Clarksburg, West Virginia, she served as a reporter, producer, and evening anchor at WDTV, Newschannel 5.
From there she went to Charleston, West Virginia where she worked at WSAZ TV-3 and spent a decade there. While she worked at WSAZ TV-3, she was able to work her way up from being a reporter and anchor and later on to being an Evening Anchor. While she worked at WV, she was honored with a “Key To The City Of Charleston” by the mayor’s office and also honored as a “Woman of Achievement” by the South Charleston Women’s.
After that, she joined WTVF NewsChannel 5 and then joined WSYX – ABC6. Five Emmy Awards were awarded to her while she worked in WV, TN, and OH. Furthermore, she also received fifteen Emmy nominations for anchoring, Breaking News, and Team coverage.
Additionally, she has been honored with thirty-six Broadcaster and Associated Press awards, such as many consecutive wins for “Best Anchor”, “Best Enterprise Reporter”, “Best Newscast”, “Best Reporter”, and “Best Breaking News Coverage.” She was voted in the Columbus Dispatch “Top Picks” poll as the “Top 3 Anchorwomen” in 2019. Later on, she took home the top honor and she was named the Columbus Dispatch “Top TV News Anchorwoman” in 2020.
In her life, she has been involved in voluntary and charity work as she fully believes in investing in the community and giving back to it in any possible way. In addition, she is passionate about helping with issues that affect women and children, helping victims of crime find justice, and is an advocate for animals.
During her leisure time, she enjoys traveling the world, spending quality time with family and friends, and hitting the gym. She is a Columbus resident who lives with her 2 miniature Dachshunds, Ginger and Ellie Mae, and her Boxer named Parker-Paisley. When coming to her education, she attended Youngstown State University where she graduated during the “Jim Tressel” era.
