Stehlin serves WICU as a weekend meteorologist and a weekday night meteorologist on Erie News Now. He joined Erie News Now and WICU 12 in 2012 and has served the station for more than a decade. Stehlin when he first joined WICU 12 and Erie News Now in 1992, served as a fill-in news anchor and news reporter. In 1993, he turned to weather at the Sunrise morning show for the newly created 12News. He left Erie in 1995, to earn weather forecasting experience.

At WXLV-TV in Winston Salem, North Carolina he did weekend weather, at WOIO-TV in Cleveland did morning weather, and at KYW-TV in Philadelphia, he was a Chief Forecaster. In addition, he served at KNBC-TV in Los Angeles did weekend and weekday morning weather and at WROC-TV in Rochester, New York as a weekday weather and morning, show host. He as well served CBS This Morning in New York City as a regular fill-in national weather anchor.

In the early ’90s, he received a Pennsylvania Association of Broadcaster’s first-place award for a new series that he produced and reported for Erie News Now on universal health care. When he was working in Philadelphia, Stehlin was part of the Emmy award-winning 5 pm news team. He was fortunate enough to be chosen as a featured background actor in two movies; Bruce Almighty and an independent film Open House when he was working in Los Angeles. An episode of According to Jim on ABC made him named a voice actor.

When he was in Erie for the first time, he was the boys’ varsity soccer coach for the Fort LeBoeuf Bisons. He is an Eagle Scout, he participated in area Boy Scout activities. During his leisure time, he loves bingeing on Netflix, watching movies as well as enjoying international traveling. He is thrilled to call Erie his home and he’s ready for the severe weather.
