She joined NBC News in January 2013, as an off-air reporter and producer covering Congress and politics. She became a political correspondent in November 2014, after appearing regularly on MSNBC as a political reporter. Not only does she appear regularly on MSNBC and Bloomberg shows such as With All Due Respect, Hardball with Chris Matthews, and Morning Joe but she also writes for msnbc.com.
Her journalism career began at NBC News where she served as an intern in its political unit. Additionally, she wrote on the passage of the Affordable Care Act while she served as a health policy reporter at National Journal’s CongressDaily.
While she covered the 2010 midterm elections, she wrote for Politico. Not only did she cover Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, but she also began working for the Associated Press in August 2011, as a national political reporter.
Her own talk show on MSNBC, Kasie DC started airing in October 2017. It aired in two separate segments on Sundays at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. and on Sunday, September 13, 2020, its final episode aired. She started anchoring a restart of the MSNBC talk show Way Too Early under the new name Way Too Early with Kasie Hunt on Monday, September 21, 2020.
