She couldn’t get a job with TV News when she graduated from college. So she got a post-graduate internship at ABC News, which led to working at WABC and NBC Nightly News behind the scenes. It was the best training she could have had, and where her ability to tell compelling and impactful stories really grew. Her first on-air job was in Fayetteville, Arkansas, as an Anchor and Reporter. Then, as an Anchor and Reporter in Jacksonville, she returned to my home state of Florida, where for the first time she began wearing her natural hair on television.
Then, she went west to Denver, where she worked for the E.W. Scripps Company as a National Reporter and Anchor. The job took her around the nation, covering stories such as Hurricane Irma, the inauguration of the presidency, and Oakland’s Ghost Ship Burning.
While she really enjoyed her national duties, she looks forward to developing connections around the Bay Area in neighborhoods and sharing the stories of the people she encounters. When coming to her education, she attended Florida A&M University to study accounting and graduated with her accounting degree.
