Aguirre serves at WPLG Local 10 News as a news anchor. He revealed on Deco Drive with his co-host Lynn Martinez in August 2014 that he will leave the show and head to Los Angeles, California to pursue his career. He replaced Kevin Frazier as the co-host of The Insider alongside Thea Andrews on September 9, 2014.

The assignment ended in September 2017 when after a 13-year run, the show was canceled. Aguirre immediately traveled back to South Florida to anchor at 4:30 and 5:30 p.m., returning to WPLG. Newscasts and acts as an 11 p.m. reporter. Oh. Shows.

In 1989, as a Spanish-language reporter, Louis started his TV career at Telemundo, where he earned his first Emmy Award nomination for a series chronicling America’s AIDS Crisis. In 1990, after scoring a coveted interview with Cuban President Fidel Castro, Aguirre joined South Florida’s ABC station, WPLG as a reporter, later becoming a weekend anchor.

Aguirre left South Florida for Hollywood in 1994 to become an Extra correspondent which led to a role as a lead correspondent for A Current Affair and was later named as the first co-host for Fox News Channel’s Fox & Friends morning newscast.

In Funcom’s The Longest Journey adventure game, released in 1999, Louis voiced Cortez/Manny Chavez and the minor character Adrian. He returned to South Florida as WSVN’s entertainment reporter and anchor for the wildly popular entertainment show at the station, Deco Drive, in 2003.

In 2004, for his special article, Miracles in the Making, he received his first Emmy Award. In 2005, Aguirre was named one of the 25 most sexy bachelors by People en Español magazine and was chosen as the American Idol insider of South Florida since 2004 for his insight and commentary during each American Idol season.
