He says that he finds Milwaukee’s individuals to be more friendly and laid back than other places he has been. He also says that he really enjoys the city’s relaxed atmosphere and appreciates how welcoming everyone has been since he moved there.
Over the years of his career in journalism, Salemme has covered many major stories. He was the 1st journalist to arrive when the crane collapsed at Miller Park and played a key role in the report of the Falk Corporation explosion, which was an award-winning report. He was also present when the roof of the Patrick Cudahy plant caught fire again, providing live updates from above (in a chopper!). Additionally, Salemme was assigned to take aerial shots for Lambeau Field’s Monday Night Football game.
Prior to joining WISN 12 News, Salemme worked for WBBM-AM 780 in Chicago, IL as an airborne reporter for 2 years. He has also worked for WLS-AM 890 in Chicago, IL as as a weekend news anchor for 1 year and 6 months. Additionally, Salemme has served Fox 32 in Chicago, IL for 12 months as a fill-in airborne reporter. In regard to his education, Salemme has managed to keep it private.
