Before she started working in the profession she loves, she worked at Lincoln Christian School as an English teacher and a basketball and softball coach for 3 years. She began her career in August 2012 with FOX23, where she worked as an associate producer and fill-in reporter. In January 2013, she went to work for KSWO in Lawton, Oklahoma as a full-time news reporter. 

Within the 1st month at KSWO, she was doing a special report on the problems of Feral Hogs. This was a story that included hog hunting. Mentioning a highlight of her career, she has covered the Shawnee and Moore tornadoes. She has also been in an interview with Johnny Depp when he traveled to Lawton for a screening of “The Lone Ranger”.

Mentioning her education, Whaley graduated from Charles Page High School in the year 2004 and then attended The University of Tulsa.
