Before joining WFTV, he worked for WKMG News 6 in Orlando, Florida as a meteorologist for 5 years and 11 months (June 1996 – April 2002). Before that, he served at KBMT/K-JAC 12News in Beaumont-Port Arthur as a Chief Meteorologist for 2 years and 9 months (October 1993 – June 1996). Terry has also worked for Channel 6 KRIS-TV in Corpus Christi, Texas as a meteorologist for 2 years and 2 months (September 1991 – October 1993). 

Terry’s passion for weather grew stronger when he was growing up in rural Oklahoma. He has spent his life pursuing all types of weather from hurricanes to tornadoes. In the year 2004, he used all his training experience in meteorology to cover a deadly hurricane. He also reported on Hurricane Charley which brought Central Florida its 1st hurricane in more than 4 decades. It was the most intense land-falling tropical system Terry had ever covered. Additionally, Terry was responsible for covering the Hurricanes Jeanne and Frances which hit Central Florida. 

Mentioning his education, Terry is a proud alumnus of the University of Oklahoma, where he obtained a degree in Meteorology. The American Meteorological Society has honored Terry with its Seal of Approval. During Terry’s leisure time, he likes working on his Mustang, as well as collecting old horror movies.
