Ryan Ermanni Career

He describes himself as just a normal guy who happens to have a pretty cool job in the neighborhood. In May 1999, he started as an intern at FOX 2, working in the sports department. Ever since he could remember, sports have been my passion. Working on sports television was something he really wanted to do when he knew he was not going to be a professional athlete, but he never really felt it was going to be a reality. He went to the University of Michigan and graduated with an economics degree, thinking that as he grew up, he had to be “realistic” about what he was going to do. He discovered during my time in Michigan that he was unable to do something for a living that he did not love. He won a Fox 2 internship, and the rest is history.

He learned everything he could that summer without ever taking a broadcasting or journalism lesson, and upon graduation, he landed his first job at 9 and 10 News in Cadillac, Mich. His next move was to the Fox station in Toledo, Ohio, after a year at Cadillac. Then in 2003, he was hired to work full time in FOX 2’s sports department and has been here ever since. He has covered a World Series, Super Bowl, Stanley Cup championship, NBA Finals, Final Four, Ryder Cup, and almost every major sporting event this nation has to offer during his tenure here.

He was given the opportunity to do some different non-sports-related tasks when serving in the sports department. He considered the morning show, in particular, to be something that he always had fun with. Lots of smiles and laughs, a platform that was so fitting for him for the most part.

He moved to the morning news in May 2016!!! A signature late morning talk show in Detroit that is informative, insightful, and most of all, fun, initially as a feature reporter and then quickly finding a home as a co-host of The Nine.” He feels so blessed to be able to go home every morning!. He’s not a typical newsman, of course. He likes to illustrate the character and respond to stories as if he were home watching. We’re kidding on the show that he’s a man of the people.” But it’s true, he really thinks he’s one of you! What you see with him is what you get.
