Young serves at CNN as a National Correspondent based at the network’s Atlanta bureau. Before he joined CNN, he was part of Atlanta’s Channel 2 Action News team. While he was at Channel 2 Action News, he worked together with the Law Enforcement to break several exclusives on major crime investigations. His investigations and reporters assisted in catching hundreds of criminals. Additionally, he received several Emmy awards including one for his piece on the chemical fire near Atlanta, Georgia.
While he was still in college, he hosted a syndicated sports show which was his first-ever television breakthrough. After graduating from college, he worked at WTXL-TV in Tallahassee, Fla where his role was to keep local viewers in touch with a wide variety of big stories. He provided viewers with crucial, up-to-the-minute late-night reports when he served as a reporter for WTOC-TV in Savannah. During this time, he earned two Associated Press awards; one for best spot news coverage of a major street collapse while the other one was for the best investigative piece that exposed dangerous cigarette lighters
While he worked for WNCN-TV in Raleigh, Northern Carolina, he told stories of people whose lives were torn apart by hurricanes Frances and Ivan. Additionally, he produced a groundbreaking report on gangs in the military, a story that earned him national recognition while he covered issues of gangs in the state.
When coming to his education, He attended Florida State University where he attained a bachelor’s degree in Media Production. During his downtime, he loves reading, anything that has to do with playing a game of fetch with his dog and football.
