Tamron Hall is an American Emmy award-winning anchor/reporter, executive producer, and talk show host known for having worked at MSNBC from July 2007 to February 2023. She served as a daytime anchor for MSNBC and hosted “MSNBC Live with Tamron Hall”.

Tamron Hall Career

Hall has served at MSNBC as a daytime anchor for MSNBC and a host of “MSNBC Live with Tamron Hall”. Furthermore, she co-hosted  Today’s Take, the third hour of Today, and was the host of Deadline: Crime on the Investigation Discovery channel. Formally, she served as a national news correspondent for NBC News.

She joined MSNBC and NBC News in July 2007 and departed in February 2023. Her next stop is yet to be known. Joining the network, she was able to get a one-on-one interview with Barack Obama before he announced his run for the presidency in 2008.

While she worked at MSNBC, she served as a fill-in anchor, first achieving prominence as a substitute anchor for Keith Olbermann on Countdown with Keith Olbermann and as a general reporter. Later on, she served as a co-host alongside David Shuster on  The Big Picture which premiered on June 1, 2009, and on January 29, 2010, it came to an end. In addition, she anchored on the weekends and as a substitute for Natalie Morales.

Her contract expired on February 1, 2017, within the month of NBC News, and she released a statement that confirmed her decision to depart from both NBC and MSNBC. She debuted her self-titled award-winning syndicated daytime talk show on September 9, 2019. In addition, she is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.

After graduating from college, she relocated to the Dallas-Fort Worth area where her journalism career began. She began working as a general assignment reporter at  KBTX in Bryan, Texas. Later on, she moved to KTVT in 1994 where she worked as a general assignment reporter for four years. Later, she relocated to  Chicago, Illinois where she worked for WFLD-TV from 1997 to 2007.

While she was at WFLD-TV, she served as a consumer reporter, general assignment reporter, and anchor of “Fox News in the Morning” which aired for three hours. In Addition, she reported on issues related to Chicago politics and covered many “breaking news” stories such as one of the most shocking Amtrak accidents in Illinois.

She was honored with three Daytime Emmy nominations by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in June 2020. In addition, in September 2020, she received an NAACP Image Awards nomination for the Outstanding Talk Series for Tamron Hall in its freshman season. Prior to receiving the Gracie Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host and dedicated the honor to Breonna Taylor. When coming to her education, she attended Temple University where she graduated in 1992, with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism.
