Wisdom Martin is an American News/Sports Anchor/Reporter working for FOX 5 DC since joining the station in the year 2003. He currently anchors the morning newscasts on FOX5DC, from 4 a.m. – 6 a.m., and co-hosts Good Day DC from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., from Monday to Friday.

Martin serves at FOX 5 DC as a Morning News Anchor and Host. A proud alumnus of Jackson State University, Martin began his TV career while a student at the university. He got his start at an ABC-affiliated television station in Jackson, Mississippi, WAPT-TV, where his role was to run the teleprompter on the weekends. He later transitioned to sports reporter, editor, and news photographer for the weekend programs. This was before he graduated from the university.
From there, he went to work for KSEE-TV in Fresno, California as sports and news reporter/anchor, then to WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina. Later on, he moved to CNN in Atlanta to serve as a weekend anchor, then to WKRN-TV in Nashville Tennessee as a news anchor/reporter. After that, he now joined FOX 5 DC.
Martin has reported live on everything from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to the murder of Washington Redskins football player Sean Taylor in Miami. He was also the first reporter to cover live on the scene of FOX 5’s award-winning coverage of the serial bank robberies in Washington.
Martin has been passionate about TV broadcasting since he was young. He used to watch the evening news, which had co-anchors, Peter Jennings, Max Robinson, and Walter Kronkite, instead of watching cartoons like what most children do. He would also watch the NFL pregame shows every Sunday. During his leisure, he likes working on his body fitness, volunteering time to speak to various schools, cooking, or even coaching kids baseball and basketball.
