She’s been to three continents and worked on all of them. CBC chose her for an assignment with Journalists for Human Rights in November 2013, and she traveled to Sierra Leone to educate reporters covering the country’s presidential election. She has previously served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a media training aid and as a writer for Global News Toronto.
She worked as a reporter and newsreader for a national radio station in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for more than a year before joining CBC, and used her leisure time as a teaching assistant at a women-only university there. Kimberly has also taught English at Fukushima, Japan, where she returned in 2012 to cover the one-year anniversary of the triple disaster for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
Kimberly volunteers at a drop-in center for street-involved women in her leisure time. She was a co-chair of the Exposure Project, which teaches women photography skills. Their images raise money for the drop-in center they use while also educating the public about the reality of life on Toronto’s streets. She currently works at CBC News alongside;
