His journalism career began in NBC where he worked as an analyst for NBC’s Sunday primetime NFL show, Football Night in America from 2012 to 2015. In the 1998 NFL Draft, he was the third-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he remained with Pittsburgh all 14 seasons of his career, making him the longest-tenured wide receiver with the same team in the NFL. Furthermore, he was the team’s all-time receiving yardage, touchdown receptions, and leader in receptions.
He attended the University of Georgia where he played football and also was a top scholar-athlete. In his senior year, he earned All-SEC honors and completed college as Georgia’s second all-time receiver with 144 receptions.
Seoul is his native home. Due to his mixed-race, is an advocate for the social acceptance of foreigners in Korea, especially mixed-race youth. The Helping Hands Foundation in the United States and Korea was founded and is being operated by him. Furthermore, he actively leads his personal charities, Positive Athlete Atlanta, a movement that ties high-character professional athletes to celebrate young athletes who have overcome difficult circumstances or made positive contributions to their schools and communities, and Positive Athlete Pittsburgh.
